Aside from following the recipe to the dot, I feel it’s the little tips & tricks during the baking process that will make the difference to the finished baked goods.
It’s always amazing (at least to me) to see these little baking helper. I bought this sometime back when I attend a cheesecake demo, so I could use it to press the biscuit base. For cheesecake, it’s important to keep the base compact or it will just crumble. When I first bake the lapis, I din noe I have to press the layers down which make the cake spongy. I use it when I did the 2nd tray but I din like the compact texture. So I guess I will keep this little helper aside for now.
I could not resist the temptation to buy a pastry cutter the other day and there are many more these nitty gritty tools that seem to be very useful during the baking process but I seriously think I shld stop buying cos I don’t have space to keep them!
