Baking nowadays (at least to me) is not only about putting flour, butter, sugar together, thoughts on the preparation work but if you have a flog, you will also set aside some creative juices on how to take good pictures of the end product. I love to admire food photography, the thought behind on how it is set up, the props used thou I’m nowhere in the league of taking good food pictures.
Armed with an Ixus 40 and no other special lights, I prefer to take pictures of my bakes with ample daylight. At times which I have to do it at night, the same tray I roll my dough on becomes the shelter from the strong ceiling light. The tray is translucent, making it a very good tool to allow minimal light to pass through. Or I will set up the tripod, set the camera on timer mode then use both hands to hold on to tray or watsoever; just like an octopus.
