花开富贵黄梨酥

Coincidentally, exactly one year ago I posted a similar post on Pineapple Tarts … it’s been a good one year! And I remember last year how much I regret that I did not do a good job on Rose shape Pineapple Tarts, so the first thing I tried this year (while doing my test bake) is to try it again. I’m wondering if it look better now? The trick is to pinch it real hard and pull away. And I thought the plastic crimper works better than the metal one! I love to work on them 🙂

I’ve receive questions asking which camera I’m using for all my photoshoot. I’ve been using a less than S$350 Canon digital camera for all my pictures, certainly not a DSLR but a simple point and shoot camera with minimal brightness/sharpness enhance using Photoshop. That’s to compensate for the lack of lighting and also sharpness from my camera. Have been toying the idea of upgrading to a better camera with manual functions – thou not a DSLR yet! So should I or should I not?!

The “design” of the pineapple tarts I will be selling this year. I call them 花开富贵黄梨酥! And just to add that for all my bakes, I am using good quality ingredients like SCS Butter, Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract, Prima flour, Canola Oil etc.

    Hi Elyn
Pretty rose indeed. I practised it at the cc workshop, didnt manage to get such a nice rose. Your skills are superb.

Where you got the plastic crimper? I have not seen one. I thot only metal ones exist.

As a sale item, yours look great!

Thanks for sharing on how to do a good rose.

You are right…the plastic one is indeed much easier to work with. I found it at PH…quite a big one with a round roller….Thanks for the suggestion!
