I have successfully “train” my 7 yrs old nephew to watch Asian Food Channel with me so we don’t have to fight over TV! Michael Smith, Anna Olsen, Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver, Robert Rainfod and the latest Cake Boss is nothing new to him!
So when we are catching the latest episode showing the bi-plane cake made by Buddy for the St Joseph’s Children Hospital, he gently reminded me that his birthday is coming and ask softly if I could make a similar one for him! I had to tell him I’m not good enough to make something like that for him and guess what he said? He reminded me that there is a similar cake in Planet Cake Book and I could follow the instructions! Yes … he flip through my cooking books and especially love the Wilton Yearbooks! But I seriously think I won’t be able to pull through a cake like that.
I hope years down the road, he will know the amount of joy he have brought me is priceless!
